Technology is a great part of this life we have today. Actually, technology is the whole life we have today. Technology is all around us and we can’t imagine this life we have without those things we recognize today as common things. Though, it seems like we were not satisfied with the quantity of technology in our lives and we brought it to our hoses. It is all about the interior of our apartments and our homes. There are different styles for our apartments to be decorated and there is one that is closely related to technology. Actually, the name of this style speaks for itself and the name of it is high-tech style. The most typical features of it are: a number of glass and metal in the room. There are nothing natural in the room in high-tech style and nothing that is at least a bit like natural. There is not much thing in the room and it is another rule of high-tech style. All those accessories people have are made of metal and glass and it makes you feel like you are at some lost factory or something. But, people like this style and they prefer it.

There are inventions that are brilliant from the point of view of the development of this life and this generation but those are common things now and people are not really excited about those, but, if you will think over the whole common stuff you have today you will see that it is a real miracle and your life would not be so great and convenient but for those inventions. For example, you have your cellar phone and it is common for you. Though, think about you don’t have it and so you are not as free as you are right now, with your self phone in your hand. You would never call your friend from any place and you would never do a lot of necessary calls. And you have your lap-top and you also recognize it as a common thing but it is also a miracle. It gives you a chance to leave your house and have the whole information you need with you. Say, there is a work for you to do but it is too noise at home and you can take your lap-top and go some another place where you can work. And it is another common miracle.

Do you know that next year, to be exact in May 2010, the Astrobotic Technology Company plans to land its Artemis Lander spacecraft with a Red Rover lunar vehicle inside the Tranquility Base – a place where the first man stepped on the Moon?

If they would do that, they will win Google Lunar X-prize – a competition started by the Google with the Prize of 20 million dollars for the company who will be the first to deliver a lunar rover on the Moon. It must be a private company, not a government one.

But of course the total cost of the Artemis is much higher than 20 million. So why then the Astrobotic Technology is doing that? As I understood from the articles about that, they plan first to explore the place where the first human beings on the Moon were with their rover shooting with HD cameras what there is now. As you know it is supposed that things remain unchanged there for hundreds of years. Films shoot by the cameras will be shown to the public.

Astrobotic says that they have planned 5 more expeditions to the Moon in the following years. Two of them will have Shackleton crater as the place of exploration. Long time before the NASA announced their plans to build the first lunar Space Base in the Shackleton crater (as this is the place where Sun shines almost all year round).

And, of course, if Astrobotic Technology proves that their spacecrafts are reliable and their prices are not so high NASA would be glad to use their services.

What will happen to the world in a couple of years is unknown, may be, our children will take the computer back to the past. Thanks to modern technology, people want to realize their old dream - to live forever, do not get sick, to achieve their goals instantly, conquer natural forces, and so on.
Every day there are more and more new ideas, which scientists want to try and translate into our lives. Some, of course, believe that technological progress destroys humanity. But be sure this will not be able to none. Yes, and who now wants to abandon the Internet, mobile communication, household appliances, television, search facilities and so on? Perhaps these will the small number on the entire planet. Let’s look at it on the other hand - the more technology, the more exhausts the surrounding atmosphere, it is undoubtedly true, but more than a new technology, the more opportunities to make equipment harmless to humans and the natural environment.
